Easy Date “Snickers” Treats

December 24, 2023 By Patricia 2 Comments

Easy Date “Snickers” Treats are so easy to make with just a few ingredients, and they’re on the “healthy” side when it comes to goodies!

Whether you need that “just one more” treat for the Christmas holiday, your New Year’s Eve party, your basketball game-watching get together, or anytime throughout the year, these Easy Date “Snickers” Treats are an easy goodie to make and serve.

These treats have been all over social media lately and I just *had* to try them on my own. Lemme tell you: they’re worth the hype!

In fact, I’m dreaming of the day that I make them again! I gave some away and kept some for myself, and I think they’re a winner. I had a little stash in my fridge, and reached for them every day until they were gone.

Did I mention they’re super-easy to make? Just a few ingredients aside from the dates, like peanut butter (or almond butter), pecans (or walnuts or peanuts or almonds), dark chocolate chips, and a touch of coconut oil.

Dates are typically found dried, and they’re packed with natural sugars. What makes them so great for these Easy Date “Snickers” Treats? They have a caramel-like taste to them (hello, Snickers candy!) and they make a one-to-one-and-a-half bite of goodness for a quick fix for your sweet tooth.

Dates are a fruit that packs a healthy punch. Check out the nutritional benefits of dates, courtesy of the Cleveland Clinic.

You can usually find dates with the other dried fruit in your favorite grocery store. I’ve got a few other really great recipes made using dates that make healthy treats. Check them out:

How to Make Easy Date “Snickers” Treats

  1. Assemble your ingredients and add a sheet of waxed paper or parchment paper to a baking pan and set aside.
  2. Slice open all the dates on a cutting board and remove the pits.
  3. Smear a bit of peanut butter (or almond butter) inside each sliced date.
  4. Add a pecan piece (or a few peanuts or an almond) on top of the peanut butter and pinch the date back together again.
  5. Continue until all the dates are filled.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave in 15-20-second increments.
  7. Use a fork to dip the filled dates into the chocolate. Let the excess drip off, then place each on the lined baking pan.
  8. Sprinkle chopped pecans, peanuts or almonds over the top. Allow the chocolate to set a bit.
  9. Store in a baggie or resealable container in the refrigerator.

Take it from me: these Easy Date Snickers Treats are fabulous! They’re a bite-sized sweet treat that’s perfect for any party. I recommend keeping a stash in your fridge for yourself, too!
