Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise

March 20, 2017 By Patricia 74 Comments

As the name suggests, Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise is sort of like a tequila sunrise. Just kidding! It’s nothing like a tequila sunrise except for the orange juice and the pretty colors in your glass! I think you’ll love this morning juice to start your day.

Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise is a beautiful breakfast drink. You'll love the flavors!

One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday morning is head out to a good spot for breakfast. Somewhere casual and somewhere that has the goods that I’m craving!

Not long ago on one of those delicious outings, I came across a juice drink on the menu at a spot called First Watch. It had beet juice and orange juice and turmeric in it, and I wanted to give it a try. It was really good, and I’ve wanted to recreate it ever since.

I finally got around to trying my own version at home, and the results were delicious! I gave it a name, and now I’m drinking it on the regular.

Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise is the perfect a.m. drink. It's so pretty and flavorful.

Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise is a healthy way to start your day. Not only that, but the juices bring colorful layers to the table, and the few additional ingredients added are good for you, too. And what goes better with breakfast than juice?

You’ve probably heard a lot about turmeric lately and its potential health benefits, like how it may help delay the onset of diabetes, help as an antioxidant in the body, and help fight inflammation. Well, I’ve added a pinch to this drink to enjoy.

Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise is the perfect drink in the a.m. You'll love serving it with breakfast!

I’m no nutritional or medical expert, but I’ve done some reading on it and I think a pinch every now and again in my diet is a good thing. You be the judge for yourself.

Lately I’ve found myself saying, “Welcome to my life, beet juice!” Beets are good for you, too, and I love them not only for their pretty color, but for the bit of tartness the juice brings to this drink.

Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise is a great go-to juice in the morning. You'll love the flavors!

If you like beets like I like beets, you really should try a few of my beet-based recipes: Roasted Beet Hummus makes a pretty appetizer for parties, or a great addition to your lunch routine served with veggies for dipping.

For a fun snack with some crunch, try Baked Beet Chips with Blue Cheese Dip. I’ve even added beet to dessert! And these Chocolate Beet Donuts with Peppermint Cream Cheese Frosting are seriously delicious!

Perhaps this drink could include tequila to turn it into a happy hour cocktail, but until then, I’m going to enjoy Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise just the way I’ve made it, and in the a.m.! Let me know if you try my version, and how you like it!

Beet & Orange Juice Morning Sunrise will make your day! You'll love the colors and flavors in this drink!

  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup beet juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried ginger
  • Ice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the orange juice, lemon juice, agave nectar, turmeric, and ginger to a bowl and whisk to combine.
  2. Add a handful of ice (if using) to a 12-ounce glass, then pour in the orange juice mixture.
  3. Gently pour the beet juice over the top of the orange juice mixture to create pretty streaks of color in the glass.
  4. Stir and enjoy.

Notes

This drink was inspired by a drink I had with breakfast at a local restaurant, First Watch.

hey! I have tried this drink before and love it as well. I went and bought all the ingredients however I was thinking to make it in a giant pitcher. Would that work? If so how would I make it?

Hi there! I don't see why it wouldn't work in a pitcher. The pretty layering would happen in the pitcher instead of in the glass, however. If you try it in the pitcher, make it as the recipes states. I'd say simply increase the quantities, proportionately. Hope that's helpful! Good luck!

I love beetroot juice! Never tried to mix it with oranges (I had it with carrot juice and apple juice before) but it looks very refreshing and healthy! So many people think beetroot juice won't taste good but I always tell them: try it, you'll be surprised!

This looks delicious! I've never had them together. Just a quick tip, for turmeric to get absorbed into your body, you either have to pair it with fat or black pepper, otherwise it is only for taste, but that is totally fine too! :)
