Creamy Skillet Swiss Chard and Chickpeas with Crunchy Breadcrumbs

May 9, 2015 By Patricia 10 Comments

Creamy Skillet Swiss Chard and Chickpeas with Crunchy Breadcrumbs makes a hearty side dish, or light meal served with a bowl of soup or a sandwich.

Creamy Skillet Swiss Charad and Chickpeas with Crunchy Breadcrumbs

When I see the word “creamy” in any recipe, I see the numbers on my scale getting bigger. Well don’t despair! This recipe offers creaminess but without a lot of scale-busting heaviness. So you’ve got, 1) not-so-bad-for-you creaminess. You also have, 2) crunchy thanks to the toasted breadcrumbs over the top of this dish. Creamy and crunchy works for me!

Let’s not forget number 3) the healthy and hearty Swiss chard and chickpeas that are tucked neatly into the skillet. They’re the perfect ingredients to make this meatless dish hearty and flavorful. So really, from top to bottom, this dish has it all.

Looks wonderful! Swiss chard is one of my favorite greens, so I love finding new recipes that use it. I'm also always on the lookout for great vegetable sides dishes for my personal chef clients. Will be making this one them for sure! Pinned, Yummed and Stumbled!

Wow, this has a LOT of goodness going on! Not so bad for you creaminess, crunchiness, greens, AND (one of my favorites) chickpeas? I'm sold! This skillet looks and sounds wonderful. Pinned it, and I will definately be making this very soon! Thanks for sharing!
